On the last day of passenger trains, the engine was 1421, which then being redundant, moved to Gloucester for a few more months work. By then one of the last survivors, it was considered for preservation, but this was not to be. Others that worked on the Culm Valley and can still be seen include 1442 at Tiverton Museum and 1450 which has just appeared in a “Titfield Thunderbolt” event.
