In 1923, Ayrshire calves were chosen, they even brought a bull calf, seen on the left, to make sure that the Ayrshire breed would remain pure in the Culm Valley.

Young Farms – Calf Club
This letter was sent out to local farmers to invite them to a meeting to discuss the formation of a calf club. Less than two weeks later the calf club had been formed.
