When the Walrond family ran out of male heirs they had no one to take on the expenses of running Bradfield House so Cullompton District Council took it on and ran oit as a bad boys home. 50% of young men charged and appearing at Cullompton Magistrates Court gave their home address as Bradfield House. Even although it had housed many bad boys the house was then bought by 2 families who shared the accommodation. However Bradfield House has recently been bought outright by a businessman who ran salmon processing plants in Scotland and also California, Recently retired he has employed 3 experienced gardeners to restore the gardens to how they were in their heyday. He has also employed a housekeeper to maintain the internal rooms to their original glory.
